Updated Research Web

Okay guys, here is my first Devblog to fulfill my responsibility as Strategy Team lead.

Finally I have procured some work to show for my efforts in conceptualizing the Strategy Mode. The Research Web is a pivotal component of post-sapience gameplay, as it is what drives your species forwards from the Awakening stage to their final steps into Ascension. Through a graphing program, I have managed …

Hey All! I made a quick cameo appearance yesterday, and I will be back for a short while before heading off to Thailand in a month after a gig at a lifestyle convention in Chicago and coaching some guys.

I just graduated from college (Bachelor's!) and now I'm ready to get back to a few projects that have some dust on them. Here's what's up.

I've been listening to Jesper Kyd and Hanz Zimmer (some of my faves!) for some inspiration. Whenever I go into the music program, I find myself creating more of a rock reel rather than an ambient beat here and there. It's a little frustrating, but having not written for a few months (ick) and having this new job jump in (double ick), it's been a juggling act.

I find that I am more inspired by pictures and video (NO SOUND) rather than audio. So if anyone wants me to create a track for a movie or slideshow, help me help you, and throw a link to a slideshow (again, NO SOUND) and e-mail me the video or slideshow and I will write the tune to it. I'm working on hashing out a much more upbeat theme for Thrive, and frankly, the process is a bit slow, but I'm still chipping away at the block and I hope to give you all some results before I leave for Thailand.

It's really great to see everyone again, and a few new faces as well. Thanks for all your kinds words on my music. It's a ton of fun writing for you dudes.

Ben

Great to have you back! Big congratulations on the bachelor's. I've been doing some art that I guess could tie into thrive, or at least inspire ambient scenes. They're all on my DA gallery.

There's a concept video that we're doing voice-overs for here. I don't know if it has sound yet, because I currently live in the campus library and I have lost my headphones. It's on youtube, though, so you could just turn the sound off if you want to avoid any earworms.
It would be excellent if we could get some good music for these things - there's also a interview of some thrive members being discussed, so background music for that could be great too.
Said it before, but it's great to have you back!
