Updated Research Web

Okay guys, here is my first Devblog to fulfill my responsibility as Strategy Team lead.

Finally I have procured some work to show for my efforts in conceptualizing the Strategy Mode. The Research Web is a pivotal component of post-sapience gameplay, as it is what drives your species forwards from the Awakening stage to their final steps into Ascension. Through a graphing program, I have managed …

PostMore Traffic Than We Thought

How many visitors would you think our forums get in a day? odds are, like me, you are underestimating.
A couple days ago I started tracking forum stats with google analytics, and this is what I've found after four days of tracking.
Spoiler:

Very interesting.

More Traffic Than We Thought :: Comments

It's good seeing all this interest. I added myself a link on my sig on another forum to Thrive's moddb page. I guess as things advance, more people start getting informed from those who already knew of the game or dicovering it themselves.

Over 100 people‽ We're popular! Although, not compared to something like the Spore forums, but at least compared to... Something else.

I'll be interested to see how much activity we get after a month, considering the activity there is only (roughly) half of the number of registered users; and how fast we're growing over time. Is there any way it can be made publicly viewable?

Also, 32.95% bounce rate FTW! bounce

P.S. See the first sentence? That's right, I used an interrobang.

EDIT: Now I'm going to go through a load of pages and get us loads of visits. If you see a sudden peak, then hi. Razz

Scio?

It's quite probable you missed the point to that post. Looking back, and 'also' followed by a PS followed by an EDIT was a bad idea.

No, but our forum has its own statistics page with some other things on it.
I'll update you guys every once in a while on traffic.

Okay. I noticed we have stuff here too, but it isn’t really that specific. The only notable thing I notice is one more topic gives us 666 of them.

EDIT: Aaand, that's 666 topics now, it's official. Mark this day, 27th of November. It coincides with my random day of celebration I came up with a few days ago and have made a sig for.

I dunno. Depending on how impressed or turned off people are, it could be bad news.

In any case, this currently has no bearing on development. I will return to my post.

Update": We've been getting pretty stable traffic, but there are two dates in which we've received flurries of activity January 31 and April 5. If anyone knows why we got 300 unique visits on April 5, please tell me why. I want to be getting that kind of traffic all the time.

I've recently added the Thrive forum to StumbleUpon. Would that explain the sudden influx of visitors?

The peaks going back down to regular levels look more like thread ads in other active forums that were swiftly buried, explaining the return to normal levels - no-one ever looks at page 2. Or maybe a post on a social network with a page 2... Hm...

The thing is though, i don't know of any postings (from inside the team) about thrive on these dates.
