| I had a dream i was in Thrive. and I just evolved from an amoeba. I wanted to build my nest in a tree or on a mountain. (first idea) but then some tornadoes came and sucked me up. I didn't need a nest anymore because I figured out that I was a marsupial! (second idea) And lastly, I saw a bunch of egg laying mammals (third idea)
so all three of these ideas came from my summarized version of my dream! Marsupial gameplay, Egg laying mammal gameplay, and build your nest wherever you want to!
Hopefully these ideas didn't get discussed while i was gone (I got grounded) >.< |

Nests would probably be formed by gathering up TOs lying around.
A marsupial pouch would be a good addition to the organ design thread.
Monotreme is the Wikipedian term for egg laying mammals, and would just involve adding the corresponding form of reproductory organs to a mammal. |

Go to the FAQs.
Monotremes are a bit like a halfway point between reptile and mammals. During the Permian period, before the Triassic, mammals began to evolve from a certain reptile group, the synapsids. The first mammal-like reptiles (you may have heard of cynodonts) laid eggs, and their progeny developed milk at some point. most branches Monotreme-like mammals at this stage eventually evolved into marsupials or placental mammals, but because of Australia's geographic isolation and unique challenges, they have remained thereto this day._________________ Remember our goals: simplicity, science, and playability. | The idea is, rather than hard-code every single one of these strange organism ideas, we generalize the system to make everything a possibility --especially those we did not expect. That's where the game gets cool IMO. |

| Sounds like it's a good idea. Although I barely undertood, I understood enough, I think.... |

Exactly, and it's the beauty of the OE that everything is very simple- all of the bones are there to use, all of the organs are there, it's possible to put them together in any way._________________ Remember our goals: simplicity, science, and playability. | How will different kind of eggs be handled (e.g. reptile eggs vs amphibian eggs)? Will there be seperate egg-laying organs or will it be an option? |

It's decided in the reproductive organs of the OE. Seriously, all you need to do is go read the OECC and you won't need to start these threads._________________ Remember our goals: simplicity, science, and playability. Keep them in mind always. [OE]| [FAQ]|[Wiki]|[My Blog] |
