Updated Research Web

Okay guys, here is my first Devblog to fulfill my responsibility as Strategy Team lead.

Finally I have procured some work to show for my efforts in conceptualizing the Strategy Mode. The Research Web is a pivotal component of post-sapience gameplay, as it is what drives your species forwards from the Awakening stage to their final steps into Ascension. Through a graphing program, I have managed …

Hi!!!
My name is Thomas Hryckewycz II and I guess I am part of the programming team for this game.
I am 15 years old and got into programming at around 11. Starting with Visual and ending C#. I am beginning to learn the more advanced parts of C# programming. Creating many useful .dll assemblys for popular open source programs such as Notepad++ is the most popular I believe.
I just want to say hello and nice to meet you all!

Hello ThRYCKz, and let me be the first to say, WELCOME!

We are all very glad to have another programmer join our ranks, as your types are very sorely needed, and I must say I am impressed with your young start at programming. I hope you have a good time here with us! Very Happy

Welcome! If you're familiar with C++, we'll be using you on cell stage soon.

Yes, another programmer! Phewf!

I've heard that all of the various C languages are very similar to each other, so you should be able to learn C++ quickly, assuming you don't know anything about it (which I'm assuming is a bad assumption, for good reasons that I've assumed [wow, I'm on a roll with all of this assumption stuff]).

C# hm? I remember thinking that was the way of the future but, c++ isn't budging as king of the hill. Any ways, welcome, the current decision on source code is c++, if you don't know it, you should definitely learn it. there are still classes, and tons of functions to be simply thought of, so i say focus on that. More so, focus on a 2d cell game, and all the stuff you would basically need. If i have the time, i'll help you in any way you need, just ask. Last thing, I highly recommend you take a look at these:

http://www.ogre3d.org/
http://www.opengl.org/
http://www.libsdl.org/

It's just graphical stuff, but unless you want to be sitting on the side lines when you finish your classes and functions, i suggest you learn at least a little bit about the above libraries, and graphical engine.

Libraries I already know somewhat about. I never used any though, in anything. But I'll look at those. Thanks for the tips and resources
